The Roman Gabriel Cherokee Christian Counterman Scrapbook

RG Triple C, the Belly Bean or as his mother calls him "Swish Swish" was born on March 27, 2006. He was six pounds, three ounces and nineteen inches long.

The Bean's name may seem long, but when you are such a special individual two or even three names will not do. Many years ago, Saima and I, chose names for a future son or daughter- Forrest Dylan and Ciara Cheyenne. That was before Dylan was such a popular name and its nuevo popularity kind of made it seem: cliche, passe or just plain last year.

The name Roman was chosen by Saima from an Anne Geddes baby name book almost as soon as she knew she was pregnant. Gabriel was always on a short list of possible middle names of my choosing with Dakotah, Xavier, Seneca, Cherokee, Cheyenne, Forrest and Llewellyn. The names I really wanted that got the old X from mom-to-be were: Conan(like the barbarian and not the late night TV host), Angus, Thor, and Magnus. My niece and nephew, Grace and David, chose Bob the Builder and Circle. I personally like Circle but Saima had reservations about toddlers naming our child.

I have been accused of having a slightly Narcissistic personality, but...  I did not choose Christian and was against it in the beginning. I only relented and let the name be added as an homage the Pakistani tradition of a child's surname being the same as the father's given name. Although Christian is not his surname it is the last given name.

The name was settled I thought as Roman Dakotah Christian or Roman Cherokee Christian but Saima had told people the middle name was going to be Gabriel and we recieved monogramed gifts as "Roman Gabriel." I was against Roman Gabriel because I didn't want people thinking I took the name from the great Ram's quarterback. So, since everyone thought his name was RG... we added the fourth name.

If Roman had been a girl... the name would have been Cheyenne Zinat-Rose Christian.

RG Triple C currently has blue eyes, dark brown hair with a tinge of auburn. He is very fair skinned and definately has his mother's mouth.
